Default 2016 Trailhawk

Anyone in a 2016 Cherokee Trailhawk yet? Have owned a lot of Jeeps over the years but now I need something I can use on highway and off road.

I moved your thread to the KL section. That's for the new Cherokees.

Welcome.

I seen them at the dealer when I bought my wifes 2016 latitude. From my understanding there are only minor changes from 2014 into 2016 mostly being very minor cosmetics differences.. I have read (not confirmed) that the transmissions have been straightened out with them.

I purchased a 2016 TrailHawk about 6 weeks ago. The car is awesome. Is true there are only minor differences perhaps with 2015s I looked at. I happened to get a better deal in the 2016 with the features I wanted. 1200 miles and no issues!

I bought one in Las Vegas today. Love the feel of it. It will hopefully work great for my needs. Let's hope we both have great luck and great times in them.

Have had a 2016 Trailhawk since Halloween. About 1200 miles, great vehicle so far! Really like the combination of comfort and four wheel drive capability.

Default Radio options on Trailhawk and tranny question

I am new to the Jeep world, too, but am looking to buy a new 2016 Trailhawk. According to the brochure, it doesn't appear that the Alpine radio upgrade (9 speakers and a sub) is available on the Trailhawk. Am I correct about that? Seems odd they wouldn't make it available to their top model. Also, how is the 9 speed transmission working for you new owners? That is probably the only thing that is causing me to hesitate on this purchase. I know they had problems when they introduced it in 2014 but I would think they would have figured something out by now. Any thoughts?

Well, I just checked the inventory at one of the dealers here and then looked at the window sticker for a Trailhawk. It did show the radio upgrade for $395 so I guess it is available for the Trailhawk. I guess the brochure needs an upgrade.

Does anyone know what the going rate for an extended warranty is? And if the price of a warranty is fixed by the manufacturer?

I have 10,000 miles on my 2016 Trailhawk. Most are highway but I do take it up in the mountains where I use low range too. I have not had a transmission problem at all. I was worried about the same thing as you when I first bought it. I'm really satisfied with it so far. It's a great all around Jeep.

Only had her a week now. Went from a 2013 Dodge Dart that got 30+ MPG to this getting low 20's. Any thing I can do to improve MPG??? Don't get me wrong I love it. Just not use to getting low gas mileage.

Spend as much time as possible around 55 mph. Somewhere in there is the sweet spot. On long flat roads at 55 I've averaged over 30 (with the V6). Typically though you're going to stay in the low 20s
