forcedInduction, I’m going to try bedding brakes procedure tomorrow. I was going to order the parts now but I’ll hold off to see if it’s does the trick. Thanks a lot

Good luck, I hope it works for you. What procedure are you going to use?

I’d probably end up getting rear ended

Glad to hear it worked a bit for you. I just noticed you're in NYC. Yeah, good luck finding a place to bed your brakes without becoming a hazard to other drivers.
The trick to bedding properly is do those 4-5 moderate stops* from 35 or so to get the pads and rotors warmed up gently, then do 2-3 hard stops* from around 50 or so (brake hard just short of wheel slip or ABS engagement) to transfer that pad material to the rotor face. Then (this is important) drive a bit without using the brakes to let them cool. Again, this is easier said than done in the city with stoplights and traffic, but do the best you can. As stated above, bedding can be done at any time.

*You're not really "stopping," just slowing down to 5 mph or so. The last thing you want to do is have hot pads clamped down on hot stationary rotors.

IJM, occasionally I’m able to get out of the city and onto country roads. I’m hoping to do this again soon. I see a significant difference already. I feel foolish not knowing that this occurs. Thanks for the great info to all that posted their advice.
