Id rock a KL.
Id put money on a trailhawk over a stock XJ.

 

There was a post on Cherokee Club that said Jeep sent RRO a KL, they probably just haven't updated that page yet. ETA mid-March for KL aftermarket goodies.

 

RRO is garbage. One of the bigdogs need to step up and drop some $ on one.

Like RE or RK...Maybe even Claytons

 

I doubt any of the big dogs would be interested in making stuff for them. Jeep should worry about getting the bugs worked out of the KL before worrying about having aftermarket support.

From reading cherokee club I can see three trans replacements already happening. Someone had their 4x4 system killed by a faulty bcm. Radio issues, leaks, heating issues, no 9th gear, trans not shifting past 7th, etc. It's been interesting watching the problems people are having.

 

The Trailhawk is more than just an ugly face. Stock to stock it will out wheel a XJ. Modded is a different story but a modded XJ will never see 30mpg or ride as nice. For its intended purpose it does what it should well sans the problems emptypockets mentioned. Which makes me wonder how many of these will be running strong at 200k+ miles?

 

People aren't getting 30mpg though. It looks like the majority are in the high teens to low 20's.

 

I'm a strong believer that 200k and 30mpg don't go together haha although I can't speak for the motors in the new ones but my 2011 JK drinks a quart of oil per 1000 mi and i will be lucky if it sees 100k!

 

Sounds like its shaping up to be a bad launch.

 

Chrysler says 1q per 1,000 miles is within spec

 

I'm sure driving style needs to be factored into that though.

 

The mileage numbers boasted on the sticker are BS anyways...those numbers are doled out by the EPA in perfect world conditions and scenarios in a closed lab setting, you will never see that kind of fuel economy, ever, in a car you purchase and drive off the lot. The numbers are inflated to begin with.

 

My wife's VW gets about exactly what the sticker said it would when she drives it.

 

Light on the gas easy on the brakes and don't go over 65. Those 3 things are very affective on better gas mileage in a Jeep. I get around 18 mpg in my lifted XJ on 33s stock gears.
