And I don't see any more or less flex then the new jeep... Neither are built like racecars... or they would be racecars... Neither were built for rock crawling either... they were however both built with the best technology of its time...

Well stated.
I started out with an XJ, but now have a KL. Times have changed and so have our needs. We had a 2007 Wrangler unlimited, modestly modded. While we appreciated its utility and capability, we couldn't drive long distance with feeling like our asses got kicked upon arrival at our destination. The KL is a nice blend of comfort and moderate capability as our daily driver.
I still love XJs, they have always been my favorite. If I ever have the chance and the change, I'd pick one up just for fun. I compliment everyone here on their awesome builds.

Nobody said "bad ***", just more.
Look again. More droop on that XJ than the KL posted up there.
That was a metaphor, clearly the new KL does not conform to Formula 1 specifications. New CUVs (which is what Fiat is producing) have a much more rigid suspension for improved on-road handling. My XJ handles NOTHING like a modern car, which is what the KL essentially is. This rigidity is primarily for safety in the hands of people that aren't looking to drive an off-road vehicle. The IRS and IFS configuration in the KL is providing a good on-road feel with limits imposed on it to decrease body roll while cornering. Compared to a Jeep, this is basically a race car.
Grand Cherokee SRT-8 is not a race car? lol
You're right. The XJ was built to get to the cabin in the woods, the KL is built primarily for street use. The inherent design of the KL's system limits quite a bit the options for upgrades to take the vehicles to the next level. Ultimately time will tell but just looking at the chassis there's only so much you can do without getting serious.
This is true, but they are not of the same class, and can't be compared on that level.

Nope. Do you think they sell racecars at dealerships?

“Carrera GT is as close to a racecar as we will ever get. This car has all the disadvantages of a racecar.”
The average Joe couldn't handle this car. 0-120 mph in 9.3 sec. No electronic stability control to babysit you. Like Porsche says. As close as you're going to get to a racecar.

My '85 Vette has no electronics in the suspension. It has fully independent suspension via 2 leafsprings, no coil springs. It's ~5.5 0-60, with the 5.7l V8. My Richmond 6 spd can handle up to 780hp.
Tell me this isn't a racecar.
I don't care what you say, anything higher off the ground than 4" will never be a racecar. Considering the stock clearance on an XJ is 8", and for the KL it's around the same. With fully independent suspension on the KL, you should expect a little bit better ground clearance axle area.
There is no way that XJ, or KL can handle a fast turn like my Vette can. I realize it's apples to oranges, but that is exactly what bringing the term "racecar" into this conversation is.
Oh, and I wanna see that KL do a burnout.

85 vette is nowhere near a racecar... that engine ain't blown yet?
I know I'm still off topic but when I bought my WK2 at landmark dodge they had a $100,000 challenger that was bare... no AC... no radio... nothing in the engine bay but a engine... sold as not street legal and 1 of 100 made... drag ready... lucky for me they had to polish the floors so i got to hear them pull it out... thing wouldn't hardly stay idle it was cammin so bad... lol...
OK back to the trailer hawk... it's better...
