My 2014 Cherokee Sport Ltd lift gate stopped working. It will bing as if it is going to open and then just locks. It will not open or close with the fob,the button in the car or on the pad at the back.
There was a recall, dealer says it was fixed 2 years ago. We have had lots of rain recently and wondered if raining getting in at the sides, noticed some along the top when I was able to get the trunk open.

I wondered if it's possible that it's a faulty fuse?
Is there a possible way to override the power lift and just do it manually?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2016. Every so often I have to open and or close it manually as the automation does not work. However once I do it manually it seems to fix the problem.
