SO ... I'm new.
I used to be a huge Jeep fan. Nothing but Jeep ... in my teens. I bought a 89 YJ when I turned 16, then a 98 XJ, later (in 1998 w/5k miles on the odometer).
Then I moved on to start loving yotas (I still had a special place in my heart for my Jeeps. Don't hate.) But, 14 years later ( I sold her in 01), I found my original 98 XJ and bought her back.
Now I'm on a quest for a complete restoration. The problem is ... do I stay vanilla or go more for a exploration vibe? I haven't quite decided. This is just a side project car for me, that I plan on keeping until I die.
Pictures to follow.

First repair, new hood cable and latch maintenance.
As a lot of you all have experienced, the cable snapped and I pulled the handle right out.
One of the rivets on the bell hinge had rusted out - allowing it to pivot and not quite release the driver side latch.

That's cool to get the same XJ back after that many years. Looks like she was well taken care of. Strange the Jeep emblem is missing on the front. As to which way to go I teeter more to the exploration build.
This XJ is long gone but it's probably the best expedition XJ I've seen.

Called the owner, it had some minor damage. But still a clean title. Everything under neath seemed fine.
