Hi DJ,
I`m after a 97 or newer 4ltr. While there are plenty available quite cheap most have had their best and are a bit too ropy.
The 2.5td is the most common one in the UK . but they do about 2 mpg more than a petrol and have fragile heads .
Ive found a few 4ltr`s worth buying, unfortunately they all seam to be 1.5-2 hours drive from me and with work through the week I always seam to be too late and miss them
The only days I can go shopping is on the weekend.
Went to look at 2 at a 4x4 dealer last weekend but unfortunately both looked quite dead.
One was spewing oil out the gear box or transfer box and looked like it had been stood in stock for 12 months plus.
The other had 2 flat tires and looked even worse. The dealer wanted £3000 on ether . I wouldn`t have payed more than £500 they were that rough.
Trying to buy one at the moment off ebay. Looks a minter but its a 10+ hour round trip to fetch it . 2 owners , full service and 50,000 odd on the clock.
If I can win it it looks worth the drive (I hope
