Default semi new.

hey guys, ive been lurking the last couple days because im about to buy me a cherokee. from what i have seen/heard they are very solid.

i found a pretty good deal on a 99 with 150k a couple hours from me and im going to pic it up in a couple days. anything i should be searching for? is rust a huge issue? i hear the motors have minor lifter tap but other wise the motor is near bullet proof. and it being a 99 most of the quirks would most likely have been taken car of in the earlier years.

so any advice when trying to make sure im getting a solid truck?

thanks guys. hope to be around for a long time.
btw im located just outside of stl mo. in a town called bethalto il.
i have a lot of offroad experience but looking to get into jeeps now. i have a motor swapped nissan frontier running mid travel 35s yadada. its been getting worked on for a while now and i need a dd in the mean time.

Andrew.

sooo clean for a 93. going to remove the pin stripes and the little graphic. fixing a few little rust spots and coating the bottom in black. needs tires. i dont like how easy the wheel is to move. so steering stabilizer should remedy that soon.
i also dont have a center console. anyone know where i can grab a gray one?
other than me being picky. very nice find if i do say so myself.

wooooooohhhhh. got a lot done on the jeepyjap today.

swapped out gauge cluster from idiot lights to an actual one. got oil pres, broke the water temp one while taking it off so ill have to tap another one........ arg.....
got a center console. a new center face place. a new passenger mirror. didnt take any pics of install unfortunately. but will post pics in a couple minutes. i got a vent that im kinda missing too, then i lost it. damn... other than that it was a spectacular day.

opp couple things pissed me off. the head unit was held in with wooden shims with elc tape around them..... and the hvac unit was held together by the head unit.
so now i need a new switch plate on the hvac unit because the mounts are broke. and the head unit is just kinda hanging there until i can get a bracket in there.

more soon.
