Proud new owner of 98 XJ in mint condition with 62K miles.
Hi all. Purchased an XJ last Weds after searching for over a year. It was posted on CL on 2/14. My wife had been looking with me and she came across the ad 20 minutes after it was posted. Immediately contacted seller. Heard back from him the next morning. I was #2 in line to see it. The first guy didnt take it at 10:30am that morning. Seller called me back and I immediately looked at. Couldn't believe what i found. Incredible condition. Completely unmolested, never seen the dirt, parked in garage, timeless. Old lady bought it new and passed away a couple years ago. Guy selling didn't know what he had. By the time i made it back from the test drive he had 60 voicemails. Lol. Not sure if I am happier that I was the lucky one or that 58 others weren't. Excited to start this new chapter and wanted to share with those that will appreciate.
Excellent. Nice to see that this type of find is still out there. With the low miles and original condition it is almost certainly worth more than if it was modified. I hope you plan to keep it as such.

They turn up like that here all the time - but at prices way beyond what I'd be prepared to pay - for anything on 4 wheels.
'tis nice though, - only observation is, those (very rare) tow hooks are an odd addition to an XJ with this history. Just wonder what else you might find.
