Pre-noob in Ohio
Hello everyone. I'm what I would consider a pre noob to jeeps. Basically meaning I don't have one yet. I'll be ready to buy one within a couple months. I just wanted to get out among the community before I buy so I can get as much knowledge about them as I can. Any advice is appreciated. I know how to look at a used vehicle. I know the floors and rockers are the worst spots for rust. I want to find an xj as stock as possible unless I know for sure any mods were done right. Once I get one I want to build it to be trail capable while maintaining the ability to drive it daily. Any tips on that is greatly appreciated. If you have any must do or first mod suggestions, that's also appreciated very much. Any way.. I live in Dayton, I'm a trucker, husband and father of 3. Thanks for the opportunity to join your community and safe travels.

Welcome to the forum. My first suggestion would be to do all maintenance wise stuff... All fluids changed, plugs/wires/cap/rotor replaced, all engine sensor grounding locations cleaned, etc.
THEN one of first mods I suggest is to do the headlight harness upgrade, the battery/starting cables to be upgraded.
If u end up buying a renix (1987-1990) then my third suggestion is to go through the Cruiser54's renix tips.
