One from across the Pond
Hi everyone from Spain!
I own a good and old XJ Jamboree '94 4x4 manual with the 2.1TD engine from a Renault 21, a pretty small one(2.1 Diesel, not the most powerful, not even powerful) with 125k miles.
I got her a year ago and she's been a nightmare, mostly because the old owner, the worst tinkerer ever, didn't care much about the XJ even tho here are quite expensive to get (around 8.000 dollars the '91 4.0 with 120k miles) and a quite light car crash, lucky me the XJ is basically a tin can and locally there's a ton of them at junkyards if you invest the time to find them
Mostly I'm trying to make her reliable again, she's my daily and travel car, solving the paint and corrosion problems, clear coat and faded black paint, battery rack and not much more, and the infamous wiring problems, wich are a pain in the neck.
I hope I can learn from you and share the way we do the things in Spain, including complaining about our "no, you can't modify your stock car" laws
Greetings!

Welcome to the family and the forum. Lots of good stuff to be had here.
hmm... "no modifying stock car" laws?.... to someone THIS side of the pond... that just sounds more like a challenge to take on to me. lol.
I came here like 7 months ago from Australia... they have some strict laws there, but you can modify just about as much as you can in the US I think. Or at least from what I've seen so far.

Thank you!
We have here even the tire and rims size regulated, if your car overall is a couple of inches taller than it should, 6cm exactly, yo have to pay a good amount to change your stock specs and it has to be made by a proffesional, for The Lord sake, we can't even add work lights witghout paying lol.
It is a challenge, we had our ways around, once per year, when we have to pass the ITV, a state inspection, we take the mods off, run it stock and mod it again, but you never know what can happen if the police pull you over!
