Default Hello from across the pond!

Hi everyone from England.
I recently became the happy owner of a 1997 Jeep Cherokee (see pics). It's had a 4" lift and larger tyres fitted (not by me). It also has a non functional LPG system, which will be getting ripped out and updated as soon as funds will allow.
I have a few jobs to do on it, but this will be a car I keep for many years to come (baring anything terribly catastrophic occurring!)

Welcome. Are those turn signal lights on the fenders stock over there?

Yes Mike. All cars in the UK have to have them I believe

Cheers Den. I want to keep it as original as possible (except for whats been done already) even has a working tape deck. I havent used cassettes in over a decade!! But i love the retro feel of them now

your welcome nige.i quite like to add my own touch with motors,but i can understand the liking of things being original.as for me..i was more or less forced to replace the stereo in my XJ.due to the fact the radio would not hold on the set stations..and the tape part started to play up...so out it went..and i fitted a Pioneer i had here..and i bought a Pioneer 12 disc changer and leads and put that in..plus new speakers.my XJ does need a little tidying here and there..but its serving me well so far...;-)

I was very surprised when I inserted a tape and it worked fine - I had thought the cassette deck would have died eons ago - but no. Using it takes me back to my clubbing days in the late 80's!! lol
I am hopefully taking delivery of a CD multichanger in the next few days (If the guy in question is in to let the courier collect it). I guess I will then need to source the lead to connect it to the amp (OR does it need to go into the stereo behind the dash?)

Would the outlined item be an LPG filter?





And would the item under/behind the tube be a second filter?

it could be a filter in picture 1..but it could also be a solonoid,i cant see clearly the object in picture 2...but someone on the site may wel guide you better than i can...as for the stereo..that good...i like the fitted stereo..but as i said mine started to act up...so out it came..my amp is under the rear seat..and i just bought the adaptors for my pioneer to fit the jeep harness and away it all went..working well..;-)

I will try and take a closer, clearer picture. If it's not an LPG filter - I am really scratching my head and wondering if it has any filters at all.......which if it doesn't - might explain why its somewhat rough on LPG!!!!
