Newest of the new...for now!
Hey everyone!
Saying I'm new to the whole "Jeep thing" is an understatement! I'd been half heartedly looking for an older Cherokee for a short while..and stumbled into a "steal of a deal" last week...so here I am. I'm a veteran wrencher and wheeler, nothing too extreme, but I've earned my fair share of "trail rash & carnage"
My current DD / time consumer is a 96 Land Rover Discovery I. She's pretty trail worthy for only having a couple of mods.
...back to the Jeep...
1994 Cherokee Sport 4.0 FI I6 / Auto / 2WD / 200K + / "oops'ed" by previous owner. In that I mean he failed to pay attention to the instrument panel, that little guage on the top left (temp) red-lined and the truck "died". I went to pick it up today, and she fired right up, but of course: A, heated up very qucikly and, B, is only running on 4 maybe 5 cylinders. I figured water pump went out, got hot and cracked or waraped the head. The truck is sitting about 30 miles north of my house, and I plan on making the long drive home in it tomorrow. Figure it'll take me a few hours with the cool-down times, but it beats the cost of a tow...maybe... Strange thing is, there's no water in the oil, or vice versa.... any ideas?
Anywho...hope everything is going well for you guys/gals,
~Rovin
