Newbie from Oregon
Hi everyone, I've been stalking this forum for a while now and thought it was time to quit being a creeper and finally sign up.
My name is Krista. I live in Portland, Oregon. I picked up my '98 XJ last summer. This is my first Jeep, this is actually my first vehicle really. Has 85k miles. It is currently all stock, but I want to change that soon.
Below is a pic from when I first got it. Cleanest it's been since I've had it. Actually took off the bumper and painted it black since it was kinda faded.
If anyone reads this, have you tried that forever black stuff? Does it work? I have tried black again, but it comes off in the rain, and I live in Oregon... so yea...

I've used it on my Tahoe, the dust around here just sticks to it and I'm sure the rain down there will wash most of it off. They sell trim paint @ auto store's... It's even got a picture of a Cherokee on the can lol Welcome to the forum!

That's a good looking Jeep. I'd get some Matte black spray paint and use that on the bumper after scuffing it up first, and masking off the ends and everything else you don't want overspray on. I've used it on Omni bumpers, mirrors, and door trim, and it holds up great. It stands up to carwashes, road salt, and doesn't chip/flake off. It's not flat black, but comes out almost like a satin finish like factory. It's sold at most auto part stores in the tall cans. Dan here saying...
