Default Newbie Checking IN!

Well I figured this would be the best place for this post... so here it goes!

My name is Chris living in Victorville Ca. I have started me a project.... Im new to building up jeeps but not new to the off road thing.

I picked up an 88 Cherokee 4x4 4.0 Auto for 400 bucks. Runs extremely strong, 4 hi and lo lock in NICE! Does have a hole in the cat... Yea cali people know my pain about needing it for smog...lol. But easy enough to fix.
has VERY little body damage. (like that will matter when i trail it out) But mechanlicy it is SOUND! Ive had it all of 4 hours and have started cleaning it and started taking off the easy stuff that just needs to go.

Im starting with ALL basic fluid/oil/coolant changes, gonna do the breaks, get a new cat get her smoged and reged. that is my first concerns on my list of "to Do'. After that is all done... Its onto the fun stuff... Lift, lights, roof rack, bumpers etc etc etc.

So now for the pictures!

Doesnt seem to let me post them directly in here...

But there they are and im gonna be looking for some help on like on cutting and rolling the fenders and other options! I have this vision in my head that i wanna make come to life over time. Looking into about a 3-5inch lift maybe some 33in tires. roof rack, Aggressive bumpers and maybe last an exo skel!

So whatca think?!

First off nice buy. Looked at a similar one today (yesterday now) and he wanted $500 for it and it had several small problems. So you got a good deal.
Secondly to post pics from PB select the pic and there is a drop down menu from each photo. Select the [IMG] one which is the bottom one. Click on that and it does a temporary copy and then go to where you want to post it and right click and paste it there.
Next I want to welcome you to CF and to say I'm glad you are here and also glad you picked a Renix Jeep.

Default UPDATE

So, here is my latest addidtion to the jeep is getting closer to trail weekend by weekend.

So today, Changed the spark plugs, Plug Wires, cap and rotor. So that has been crossed off the list of To Do..

And as for the next thing to be crossed off. Took me to some distructive parts of me i knew i had!

here are the results!

Before, (minus the flares)

After:

I still have some cleaning up to do on it, and im going to put the door trim stuff on it. I stopped without doing the clean up triming cause its about 11pm and the nabiors might be a tad pissed with all the noise!

OH and you might notice i took it down off the jack stands. Put her stock wheels back on roll her out the gerage, sprayed it off as well as cleaned the gerage floor from the crap that just falls or gets left behinde from the past few weeks of work.

Welcome! Take a look at my pictures, might give you some ideas, I have the samething, mine is an 88 4.0 4wd 3" lift 31's but since it is 21yrs old I have historic tags so I got a flowmaster muffler, as well as by-pasted the cat, sounds awesome, but keep us informed!
