Hey guys, I just got my self a 96 4.0 Country a couple weeks ago. I had a YJ a little while back and I'm real glad to be back in a Jeep again.
It's all stock for now, aside from a Uniden CB I got from a friend of mine and I updated the stereo a little bit. I'm hoping to be ordering a 3.5" Rubicon Express lift next Friday and I'm looking at getting some 31's soon after and I'm pulling the plastic off the bottom of the doors and bed lining it since it's already missing one panel. and I've got a replacement lens for the drivers side turn signal on the way. Now I just need to find some wheelin buddies around here and hit the trails.
anyways, here's a couple shots of her right after I got her.

Welcome and I too pulled off my plastics from the bottom of the doors and I gotta say I like the look, kinda more solid looking. My corner lines was missing as well when I got my xj.
I think we need a 96 country club because I see more and more people here with them.

yeah I think it'll look a lot better with bed liner instead of the plastic crap. yeah that lens was the first thing I ordered. for some reason stuff like that just bugs me to no end.
but yea, we should have one. I can't remember the exact production numbers but there weren't TOO many of the Country's were there? Gotta say I'm really enjoying the leather haha.

Thanks guys. Definitely seems like a great place. I was over on jeepforum forum from back when I had my YJ and I was having some issues with the xj and got practically no response on the thread I started and I had zero replies on my reintroduction thread. Much warmer welcome here. Seems like there's definitely some good people here.

Thanks man. I can't tell y'all how excited I am to get started building her. I've got a buddy that's got a Lincoln mig and a miller tig so after I get the lift and tires on I'm gonna start working on fabbing some bumpers and maybe a basket rack.

yeah she's in good shape. A friend of mine actually bought it for 600 bucks. had a hole through the block in cylinder number six so he got it for a steal and got a bottom end from a 99 and swapped the head over, did a bunch of maintenance and so fourth and right around the time he got done I was actually in the market so I took it off his hands. I had to swap out the torque converter earlier this week but other than that she's running like a champ.

okay guys, I don't wanna start a new thread for this, but I had a quick question. I did some searching and didn't really find anything.
from what I understand there's a few different axle options I could have, so I was wondering how to find out definitively what I've got under the Xj. and also, I've read that there's a couple different gear ratios I could have. How can I figure out what axles I have and what gears are in them?
