New From So Cal
Hey Cherokee Forum people. I've been looking to buy my first car for awhile now, and accidentally stumbled upon this site awhile back, and was sold on getting a Cherokee. Well, on Tuesday, that came true as I finally found an extremely well taken care of 1989 Cherokee Pioneer with virtually everything working (besides the stereo which I will be fixing). So, needless to say I drove out an hour away to get there (I offered the guy 100 dollars to hold it for as he said he had other guys wanting it), and as I got there, someone else pulled up and offered him 300 more, but the guy held up his end of the deal and let me look at it and drive it, then buy it before even considering the other guy.
A little about me, I'm Tim, 20 years old, (Cherokee wasn't my FIRST car, but the first I bought), going to college right now to become a history teacher, and plan on become a volunteer firefighter, maybe even a full time firefighter out here in Sunny (Well very wet right now ) Southern California.
Here's a picture of it the first night I got it:
(And yes that is my little sister trying to climb into the back thinking it would be a blast to play in) I'll take some more pictures when this rain lets up eventually.
Now I know this isn't the build forum, but since I have had it, I have painted the mirrors(as they were turning white from age), to a sleek black again. I have cleaned the whole insides with Armor All (it was in great shape and very clean, but I was just eager to do it), cleaned the rims from brake dust and other dirt. And today I went to install new battery terminals, but I put on the positive side and while tightening the P.O.S broke, so I went and got a new one. Then the battery post was rocking way too much, and needless to say I had no turn over when trying to start it. Went to AutoZone and picked up and new battery and dropped it in with new terminals (since the old battery and terminals were just that. OLD. It was a Diehard battery...That's before my time :P). Anyways. That brings me up to date with a fierce starting Jeep that is amazing so far!
