New to owning, but not new to loving.
I recently bought a 2000 XJ 4.0 for a GREAT price. NO rust. Issues, though. My boyfriend (a jeep lover as well) and I replaced the spark plugs, injection coils, oil filter, changed out fluids, etc.
The engine light is reading, even after that, that there is a cyl 6 misfire?! And the car shakes BAD after you drive it and it warms up (boyfriend says he doesn't like how quickly the temp seems to go up). Then the tranny goes (it's an auto).
He says a new coil rail and rebuild kit for the tranny should correct it all. I love and DO trust him, buuuut I wanted to know if anyone had any other suggestions??
We dumped antifreeze into it because it was low, but the tubing was DRY!! NO leaks, anywhere. He thinks it's going out the exhaust?? We checked all tubing for clogs, bubbles, holes...nada.
I really think my girl (of course it's a she...typical woman, bein all difficult! I'm a woman, so I can say this ;D) is sooo worth the fix up! But I don't trust any mechanics in my area, nor do I have the type of money that a mechanic would require for this work.
I'm new to this gig and want to be a pro at it, and I was wondering if anyone could steer me in the right direction, or some tips, etc.
Thanks!

Welcome to CF. It's possible you have a cracked head, or leaking head gasket. Read this: >->http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/0.../#post11820023
