Default New Texas XJ

Well all of my buddies have 4x4s so it was time for to me to jump on the bandwagon. I sold my 4 wheeler and began to scour craigslist for a good deal. I was torn between a toyota or a jeep until I saw this xj. It is a 99 with a 3" BDS lift, SYS with a tom woods driveshaft, new brakes all around as well as new ball joints and tie rod ends. It also had a banks header, magnaflow cat and a flowmaster. It had 160k miles but after doing some research with proper maintainince this was not a huge deal. The interior is what sold me, it had a new headliner and was in really good shape. So I worked out a deal and drove it home. I have taken it out the last 2 weekends and had a blast. But like everything there is allways room for improvement. The rear main looks to be leaking, after sitting for a week in my driveway it dropped one drop. I ordered a tranny cooler and gauge as well to keep tabs on it. I also noticed this week the front pinion seal appered to be leaking as well.
THis website has allready helped me fix a code for the downstream cat, I used the spark plug anti fouler trick and it has not come back on yet. Well be prepared for alot of questions!

I'm new to this site too, still in the market for 2 XJ's. One for me and one for our 16 year old. We had a Jeepster in the 80's then bought a Cherokee in '87 and drove that one until 1997. Now we are back in the market for a Cherokee, what can we say? We drank the kool-aid and are Cherokee fanatics. Located in Houston Tx. Keep me posted if you see any great deals. (gotta have 4WD)
