New Member looking for XJ in the KC MO area
Hi everyone. Owned a '97 XJ a couple years back but it got destroyed in a rollover accident. Toyed around with a built Integra but want to get back into the Jeep family.
I've read the various discussions regarding 2 gen XJ's and I understand that '99's are preferred but I think, at least initially, anything from '97-'99 would be fine for my purposes. There won't be any heavy off-roading, at least not at first.
So, if anyone has any suggestions on how to locate XJ's in the MO/KS/NE/IA area - feel free to pass that, or any other wisdom, along. I've been doing the obvious (Craigslist, autotrader, cars.com).
Thanks in advance and I look forward to asking (and maybe someday answering) many more questions.
Tony

Welcome to cf, glad to see your coming back to cherokees. As far as info, go with the '97-'99. The later '00-'01 had a few flaws and less desirable parts. If it were me i would get the 4.0l engine, 231 t-case, Chrysler 8.25 rear axle options, but i don't know what you'll be able to find in your area. Good luck in your search.

Thanks so much for the advice and welcome.
Any thoughts on the following? Seems a bit high.
