Hi all,
I've been looking at Jeeps for a while and have settled on getting an XJ. Seems like the TJ's are way overpriced.
Right now I'm looking at an 88, automatic, 4.0 liter. 186k miles. The guy is asking 2k. Says it has a 3" lift and 31's.
What should I be looking for, or looking OUT for when I am looking to purchase ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to buy myself a ton of trouble.
I hope to do small/minor mods to it to do some trailriding, off-roading, etc. Probably nothing serious, not a rock crawler or anything like that.
Thanks.
Phil

Welcome, can't help too much with the older Cherokees, rust is always an issue with them, take it for a ride see how it rides. at that age & mileage, you can expect steering to be sloppy & universals to be pretty worn. relatively easy things to replace if you have basic tools & basic know how.
price sounds about right. good luck
