Default New around here

Hello jeeples. I'm new to the forum and will be picking up my first XJ this weekend. A gem of a 96 2 door 4.0 HO automatic all stock and unmolested. Also never saw the trails driven by an old man. Needs some TLC and should be a great truck. I'm not new to jeeps I also have an 87 YJ and a 13 JK. I'm just as excited to get this XJ. Looking forward to getting tips and advice from you veterans out there. Thanks in advance and happy jeepin!

Welcome, nice family of Jeeps you got there. 96 XJ, just an FYI, that year is known as the "bastard year" (I believe) as that was a transition year for the XJ. Don't let that bother you though. My 01 is known as the "cracked head" year, and haven't had any problems (yet).

Good luck, any plans for it?

Thanks man. Only plans right now for the XJ is make sure it's safe for the road and the tires need to be replaced. Probably going with oem size for now something cheap to get me around. Future will bring a lift and tires but that's a long ways away. Too many jeeps to mod right now lol. And I don't listen to what some people say and that's actually the first bad thing I heard about this XJ so far. For $700 it can be a bastard all it wants too haha
