All, I just picked up a 2001 Jeep Cherokee at a sealed bid auction. Even though this is my fourth Cherokee I do have many questions and will be posting on a thread re: lift kits.

since you have a 2001, you'll get a lot of guys stating the 0331 head issue (true concern) but not on every 01. My 01 doesn't have too many issues, but they do have issues nun the less.




Post up some pictures, and tell us what your plans are for your new rig.....

Thanks. Yea I'm familiar with 0331 issues. Not worried. Changed out all fluids (axles, drive train, oil & coolant & thermostate) & will keep an eye on coolant level. 108k miles, good oil pressure, I'm happy. If head cracks I'll swap it out. NBD.

This Cherokee will be hauling hang gliders up very rough 4wd roads. Looks are unimportant. I'll put a 2" lift kit, bigger wheels/tires for ground clearance.
