Hello all! I just purchased a used 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited (5.7 Hemi) as a tow vehicle for my smallish popup camper. I bought her out of necessity as when I bought my camper last fall, I had visions of going on cross country adventures towing it with my 2003 Jeep Wrangler (TJ). Well, that dream crashed and burned when I found out that it's not a very good idea to tow a camper with a Wrangler (even though she's got an inline 6 manual transmission) due to the short wheel base. I'm a single female and the only towing I did was behind a Uhaul when I moved from Arizona to Iowa. Everyone on my popup forum advised against using my Wrangler as a tow vehicle due to the "tail wagging the dog" issue.
So basically I'm not new to Jeeps (I had a '98 Wrangler prior to the '03) but new to the Grand Cherokee scene. And I must say, I'm impressed!

Hey there and contrats on your new ride! I do like Wranglers but agree they are prob not the best camper tow rigs. My sister has an '04 Grand Cherokee Overland mall crawler and loves it. If you have an '05 that would be a WK model as the Grand Cherokee was redesigned mid-'04 into a new body-style as an '05 model.
