Default New to jeeps, going to pick mine up tomorrow, anything I should look for?

Hello to all!

Going to pick up a 98 cherokee sport tomorrow, looks like a clean unit, all stock, 165k. Anything that I should look for besides the obvious?

I did notice that the hood is raised up in the back on the drivers side in the pics, the guy said he wasnt sure why, was the a problem with hinges or something?

Im going to lift it about 4.5 or 5 and use the TJ Moab wheels with 31 or 32 a/t tires, Im going for the clean lifted stock look, maybe a roof rack, and some lights, and a few powertrain mods.

Thanks for any tips or advice in advance.

Yep, drove it home last night, ran 80 all the way home, drives smooth like a car, It is a bit compact for me but I'll get use to it, Iv been driving a F250 crew cad and a full size bronco for years now so Im use to a big interior. Idles a little rough and the belt squeals, and the brakes are kinda soft, I will start working on it tomorrow, probably pull the TB and IAC and give it a good cleaning. Check engine light came on so I will hook my scanner up to it and see what it says today. I will get some pics up in a little bit, Probably go ahead and start me a build thread. Thanks Lee

Keep an eye on it for overheating. Some guys mod the hood for cooling purposes when wheeling.
