New to Jeeps
Hey, everybody. Just taking a minute to introduce myself. I'm a guy in his mid 30's who works in the aftermarket parts industry.
I just traded my 1999 Jaguar XJR for a beat to hell bone stock 2000 Cherokee and a little cash. I needed something that won't get stuck in my horrible driveway, so I took a big loss and made the deal. Funny thing is, I went from a Jaguar XJ to a Jeep XJ.
Mechanically, the Cherokee is near perfect. It runs and drives awesome, although it does have the typical 4.0L engine noise. It looks like it may have been rolled at one point, or maybe had a tree limb come down on it, as the roof is bowed in and there is some damage to the drip rail. Also, the rockers are pretty shot and the right front floorboard is weak. No big deal, as I have a friend who can fix the body cheap.
I'll be posting a question in the tech section about some radio issues I'm having. I'm hoping everyone here is as friendly and helpful as the members of jaguarforums.com, which is where my user name came from.
I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you, and learning about the Jeep Cherokee. I'm not much of an off road kinda guy, so I won't be putting a lift or anything like that on it. It will remain mostly stock, although at some point down the road I may decide to do some engine performance mods. I'm mostly concerned with gas mileage and 4WD for the nasty Michigan winters.

Haha I hate when I search for "XJ parts" and get nothing but Jaguar stuff... (Mostly on EBay). Welcome to the forum!

I always used to get results for Cherokee parts when I searched for Jaguar parts. Of course, now that I have a Cherokee, I'll probably only find Jag parts...
