Default "new" jeep owner from Canada

Hey everyone been creeping this site for quite a while and drooling over some of the amazing looking XJs.
I'm not new to the offroad world I've owned a 1995 Chevrolet silverado (3" lift and 35s),another 1995 Chevrolet Silverado (4" lift and 35s),ANOTHER 1995 Chevrolet Silverado (stock), a 1994 Toyota Pickup (3inch lift and 35s), a 1987 Toyota Pickup diesel (3 inch lift and 35s). But I fell out of wheelin for awhile, moved outta town, got married, bought a house. But I've always had the itch to build another rig, always wanted an XJ but for some reason I kept buying 95 Chevys lol

Well last Friday my buddy tells me "hey my mom is getting rid of her 2000 Jeep Cherokee .. You interested?" i said "obviously, how much?" he said "$300.00" SOLD and that's $300CAD for the Amarican readers. For that price I wasn't expecting a perfect Jeep. I went and looked at it. It needs new door pins for both front doors, needs u joints in the front axle (comes with new ones) and needs the breaks done (comes with new rotors, pads, drum breaks and a spring kit). It has 286,000km, few rust spots bit only surface rust, floors are intact, unibody frame looks good. Sounds like a perfect place for me to start! And since I'm kinda ballin on a budget $300 was perfect. This build will be slow but it'll be done right, no redneck BS. This Jeep will never be a show jeep it's to take out, explore, scratch it, dent it, and just have fun!.. If you read all that that's great I'd not here's the just of my story.. Hi everyone I bought a cheap jeep and I'm new here lol

Welcome to the forum and the family. XJ's are fun... that's the truth. The require the maintenance, but in my (and most on here) opinion, worth the effort and sometimes grief.. but hey... the day they build a vehicle that needs NOTHING done to it ever... then it's game over, but I don't see that day on the horizon or the calendar anytime soon. lol.
So build, have fun, and keep us posted.

Hello and welcome! That's a solid looking xj to start with and seems like you got it for a good price. You will find all kinds of useful information here that's for sure.
