New Here, finally doing an introduction!
Hey fellow Jeepers! My name is Matt & I'm proud to say my first vehicle of mine is a Jeep & I love it! For starters I only paid $1,000 at an auction in CT last March. It's a 1994 Grand Cherokee Laredo V8, I have only put in a little over another $1,000 to get it running and looking the way it does almost a year later! My family has also been a huge Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep family. My uncle currently drives an Unlimited Wrangler & has owned a Grand Cherokee ZJ in the past, my aunt has a 2004 WJ Columbia Edition 4.7 HO V8, another aunt drives a 2006 (don't quote me on the year) diesel Grand Cherokee, my father has a 89 Comanche 4.0L 5 speed 2wd short bed (planning on making it a 4WD soon) another uncle has a 2004 Grand Cherokee limited, my cousin currently drives a 1996 Cherokee Classic. Now for the list of Jeeps one of my cousins has owned lol he owned a 2007 JK which he traded in on a Dodge Challenger R/T then went back to Jeeps buying a early 90s 5 speed Cherokee for a daily driver which is now going to be transitioned into an off-road vehicle to be the sibling of his other XJ that is already set-up for off-road (bring both of those to Dummond Island, Michigan this summer) he has owned two previous off-road vehicles (one a XJ and the other a ZJ) & now he drives a 97 ZJ Laredo 4.0L
Attached photos are of my 94 ZJ when I first got it and how it looks today, and one recent picture with my dad's Comanche .. since I have owned it I have done the following:
-hinge pins on drivers door
-updated to a 96-98 style ZJ lift gate with an opening rear window
-front brakes (pads, rotors, calipers)
-rear shocks (coil over shocks)
-new cat-back exhaust (dynomax)
-new water pump
-lower & upper radiator hoses
-driver side motor mount
-front end alignment
-2 new tires
-96-98 ZJ style Laredo wheels
-Serpentine Belt
-Oil Sending Unit
-Starter
-Battery
-Front axle shafts
-trailer hitch
-Bug deflector
-5" inch KC Apollo series fog lights
-tinted windows
-plugs/wires/cap&rotor
-New headlights (from Rock Auto)
-painted body cladding, bumpers and roof rack in spray on truck bed liner
just as a note, i myself did not pay for all of these items (some of them were gifts between my birthday, christmas, and my parents helping out some as well, after all i'm a poor college kid lol)
Future Plans for my Jeep is to change out my transfer case to have a 2WD option and update my front end (grille, bumper, Etc) to a 98-98 style.
