Default New here

Hey guys, I'm Bobby. I'm moving back to Northern AZ this week and once I get a job hammered down, I'll be hunting down a Cherokee for my winter vehicle. Right now I have a 1999 Mercury Cougar that has been a "work in progress" for far too long. I love the car, and I'm keeping it for sure, but it has been modded a little too much to be comfortable driving up there on the dirt roads by my Dad's house. Between that and the winter snow, it just won't handle it on its own, hence why I'm going to be getting a Cherokee.

When I was 16, my first car was actually an 87 Cherokee 4 door 4x4 Auto with the wonderful 4.0 engine. The thing was absolutely indestructable, but in my selfishness for wanting a "cool car" (remember, 16 years old, and all my friends had tricked out imports) I sold it for an 86 Honda Accord, and have regretted it ever since. The Honda was an absolute pile of junk, and constantly broke. Now that I'm going back up to the high country (I've been in Phoenix since I graduated HS in 2004) I want to take the opportunity and get another Cherokee, because I realize now how much I loved my old one.

Anyways, I'm not going to be getting one for at least a couple months, but I want to get in here and gather knowledge about these things that I didn't get or understand when I was 16 and dumb. I don't really know the differences between all the different models and the specific parts they came with, so thats mainly what I want to learn before I buy one, so I know what to look for.

For now I'll browse and search around for the few things I'm curious about right now, and if I can't find the specific info I'm looking for I'll be sure to ask (if there's one thing I've learned since I had my last Jeep, its Forum Etiquette and seeing people ask stupid questions when the answers are right in front of them). Hopefully I'll get some useful info and once I get my Cherokee I'll be able to have fun with it and share it with you guys. Thanks!

Bobby

Welcome Bobby from Deep South Texas. Glad you have decided to join us. I worked for a year in that area Payson to be exact. Great place and I hated Phoenix (way too hot) anyway glad you will be looking for a Cherokee. Let us know what your choices are and we will help you decide.

Thanks for the welcome guys, when I go to make my purchase I'll be sure to check in here and get your opinions. Who knows, maybe I'll find one here on the forums that I could get.
