Default Newb Questions

This is my first 4wd, I understand how a tcase works as well. My question is can I drive this XJ with the tcase in its current condition? Pictures are in the first post.

Thats kinda what I figured, so I tried three different types of epoxies/jb weld with luck. The aluminum case just wouldnt take it.

XJwonders, a local junkyard qouted $200 for a NP242. Does that sound high or normal, I'm new to Jeeps but not junk yards or turning wrenches.

Thanks for making a new guy feel welcome.

That's normal, but if you want to wheel it, I would recommend the np231 instead of the np242. Price is standard

Why the NP231 ? Strenght? Lower gear?

Oh and is there a thread on repairing a broken seat frame? The Driver front has a getto lean going on and that has to go!!!

Welcome to the forum man. Not too many people traffic this section so it is better to post in OEM tech or Modified tech. If it is a problem with something like a seat or anything stock, ask in OEM. If it is something like switching out the transfer case, ask in Modified. Those two sections get much more traffic and will get your questions answered much quicker.
