Default New guy to the Jeep world am I crazy?

Alright, here is what I am thinking and need to know from everyone else if it is worth going through with it? I found a 1994 Cherokee with 330k on it for 900 bucks, the body and interior are in good shape. I was thinking I would drop a reman engine, transmission, and putting work into the suspension. Would it be worth the time and effort?

Doe's it run? If so, save yourself the trouble of putting a motor in it and throw a cam and timing set in it and flush all the fluids. Does it smoke, stutter or lag? If it runs good, then why replace the motor?

Sounds like a good game plan. Pass on the motor swap until you have to and work on the worn suspension and driveability issues.
