Greetings to all- just picked up a well used 96 Cherokee this afternoon. I missed a few things in my inspection and it looks like it'll need some new floor pans. Quite the project. Will be leaning on you guys for helpful hints on doing it myself. Appreciate you all and am happy to be a part of the forum

Welcome. There are plenty of us who have dealt with the floor pans. You're in the right place.

I've been told by a few friends that the project may not be worth it and to pay someone to do the job would be thousands. I'm determined to do the prep work myself and will just have to pay out to get the new pans stitch-welded in. Very intimidated at this point and wondering if I bit off more than I can chew? Any ideas on where to start for interior removal?

Again- Thanks guys, am happy to be a part of the group

`Rick

There are a few quite recent threads on here that have discussed that very issue/project. I've wrenched for many years on vehicles... but I'm not a welder... and even with that being said, reading the steps that people have done on their XJ's here, I'd certainly be willing to take it on. It may sound/look intimidating, but when you step back and look at it again, it's really not as bad as it seems. And we're always here to answer questions.
