Default new guy new idea?

hello my name is michael, i am working on a 2001 jeep grand cherokee it was given to me and has been wrecked. on to the important stuff i got it 3 years ago replaced the rad straightened up the core support new bumper ect.. it has spun 2 bearings i want to replace the engine i found one the was in a 89 wrangler could i make it work throw my intake on ext. mani coil pack yadda yadda yadda

what im asking with my motor as a donor can it be done?

Yes the block will fit and work, but its and older block. Tolerances might not be as tight for emission type stuff. Basically you have to get it to pass the 2001 emission requirements on an older engine. I guess it can be done, but generally you always go to a same year or newer engine.

Oh another thing you need to look at is the accessary mounts. These do change from 4.0 to 4.0 depending on what they came in. I just recently bought a 2004 4.0 for my '
95 xj. It has 19,000 miles on it. A great find, but it doesn't fit my XJ, because the mounting hole for the alternator and a/c are different. So beware.

You'd be suprised, I had a '77 F150 that passed emmisions better than my dads '01 expedition and '02 lincoln town car
