New Guy, New Jeep, New-ish Dog
I've felt like a thief, of sorts, stealing info from this site for a few months now and thought it'd be the right thing to do to post something.
I had to replace my daily driver mid-summer and had to get something quick because the tabs were about to expire on the Audi and it needed some major work and I didn't want to spend another dime on it. So, I started looking for a "work" rig that would get me around in the wet, and sometimes snowy/icy area around Seattle (still not sure about that - 2wd and no snow here...yet). Always liked the looks of the Cherokee and started to look for one that might fit. Knew nothing about them really. I found one at that fit the price range, and it ran fine, so I bought it.
This is one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. It's been great! I've never really been a car guy - at least the working on them part. But, I've done more work on the XJ than any car I've owned and loved it. Very easy to work on, get parts for, swap things in and out of. Fun! The forum has been a great part of that too. Just about every question I've had has been answered via some thread or another - which makes enjoying the XJ much easier.
I have some questions, or need of opinions, that I'll use the site for soon. I wanted to thank everyone out there who's contributed to the site. The information available on the site has been a key piece for me to really enjoy the XJ and feel confident in it getting me around and doing what I need it to do. Look forward to being a part of the forum.

Thanks for the welcome 99 Purple and Ol"Blue. It's been a great site for me. Changed the u-joints over the weekend. One was really tough, PO had done little maintenance on the xj. Couldn't press one of the joints out with a vise, fortunately had access to a shop press on Monday and got them out and new ones in. Site was helpful with some ideas from prior threads. Hope to be of some help as I do more work on mine. Thanks again.

1A Tony, thanks for the welcome to the site. I've looked at a number of things on your site - getting ready to make some changes to the red xj after the holidays. Look forward to any help you might be able to provide.
