New to Forum from south Texas
Hey guys, well to start off this is my 2nd cherokee i had a 1998 Classic 2wd when i was 16 it was my first car loved it to death but then a tire fell off a car going south bound and hit me going north bound and thats the end of that got a powerstroke then moved on to my new 2012 tundra.
I have always wanted to get a 4x4 cherokee just couldnt find one for the right price.. well after looking and looking and looking i gave up about a month ago and decided to keep to restoring vintage motocross bikes and racing them as i have been.
decided to look on craigslist in San Antonio and i found this Gem
1997 Cherokee 4x4 for 1200 bucks.. i couldnt belive it. so i took off work drove up there to look at it, 218,000 miles hadnt been started in 6 months needed some TLC tires were almost flat needed a battery. well 1000 dollars later i was down the street putting fresh gas in it airing up the tires and getting a new battery from walmart hoping i would make the 2 hour drive home..
Surprisingly it drives very good runs smooth when its warmed up and i made it home no problem. I have big plans for this thing, Lift, Wheels and tires and ARB front bumper with a winch and a Smittybilt rear bumper with tire carrier, Roof rack with baja style lights, snorkel and maybe some sliders and who knows what else.
interior needs some work carper is gross thinking about taking it out and just rhino line it of some sort. Maybe some new seats or possibly getting these re done.
Finally home now to vacum and see what im working with
Anyone know where i can get a nice safari style roof basket?
