New to the Forum AND Jeeps!
Hello everyone, Michael from Austin here. So here we go: I purchased a 96 XJ a week and a half ago from a kid who only owned it for a year, but beat the crap out of the truck while he had it. Right now the Jeep is in the shop getting a new exhaust manifold, motor mounts, MAP sensor, crank sensor, and general tune up.....for now.
As the title says, I am new to the Jeep. I've been more of an Rx-7 guy in the past and now stuck on BMW. The Cherokee is supposed to help out while I build up my current daily driver, a 1976 BMW 2002.
The Jeep is in pretty good shape, 4.0 HO, auto, 152k miles, 4" ProComp lift, 31" LTBs. The kid I bought it from had stripped the interior, did a half *** job at Herculining the rear two thirds of the truck and then SPRAY PAINTED the seats! I've since bought a new set of seats from a parts car and new stock fender flares. Fortunately, the interior seems to be the worst part of it all.
Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself since I imagine I will be lurking around here pretty often. I've been reading up the last few weeks and you guys have already provided some good help. Unfortunately, the Jeep is still in the shop so no pictures for now.
This is a great forum so far, thanks in advance!

Welcome from CA. I'm a pretty big fan of 2002s, I'm hoping that after this summer I'll be able to buy a '74 2002 to restore but right now all my money's going to the Jeep.

So I got the Jeep back. New motor mounts, exhaust manifold, CPS and MAP sensor. Now I just need a new steering box and some not so knobby tires. Anyway, as you all had requested, here are the seats that the PO spray painted black. Enjoy, they'll be gone soon!

These are all cell phone pics by the way.
The PO ran into someone at some point so I've got a little fixing to do on that front right corner. He mainly just smashed the lights ups and I'm going to be cutting the bottoms of the fenders so no biggie there.
