New to... Everything on here
When I say new to everything on here I literally mean everything. This is the first forum I have ever registered on (not even sure if I'm doing this post correctly) and I'm new to XJ's. I'm coming into the Jeep world from having a 79 F-150 mud truck, but the combination of a gas guzzling big block that runs on premium fuel and lack of interior space has made me decide on something more practical yet still fun, so I bought my 88 4 door off my buddy's dad. I picked her up for under a grand and she got me home without a problem (2 hour drive) she's all stock for now and I will probably hold off on a lift and tires/ wheels for a bit as she came with brand new all season tires and I hate to let them go to waste lol. My eventual plans are to have a daily driven expedition style jeep

Beach Bum
Hi and Welcome.
I like expedition rigs and built one myself. Mainly for the beaches and surfing. Installed things like stove, shower, sun-shade, recovery gear, sand ladders, air compressor.
If I were to do it again, would go with a 3" lift and trimmed the fenders instead of 4.5" lift. MUCH more trouble and money dialing in a 4.5" lift
Here is a link to a current build on the forum.

And the following forum is for all things expedition, all vehicles.

Good Luck, Steve

Thanks for the welcoming! And thats a good looking rig Steve, I appreciate the input. I was actually having a hard time deciding between 3" and 4.5" lift. I'm thinking I want to go with some 32x10.5's or 11.5's but I gotta be careful with the trimming because I have my heart set on some flat style fender flares
