Hey guys and gals. I live in FL and I just registered on here yesterday. my names herbie and my user name sums up me. I like to break ***** so dont take any of my comments the wrong way. i usually only do it to people i know, this is my 1st cherokee but jeep #8 for me. I always hated the cherokee because i use to hit my head and now its one of my favorite jeeps after owning one. I've got a 2001 cherokee sport. it finally hit 106,000 miles. I got it with 102,000 in the middle of summer so i dont drive it much. it came with a crappy 2" lift and busted rear springs. so i swapped the busted springs with AAL's for some stocks with blocks then bent those.. so now it has a home brew 4" lift a.k.a. heinz 57.. pro comp rear spring/ superlift front springs/ RE super flex lower control arms/ and zone nitrogen shocks. Great forum great builds , as a 4wd fabricator by trade maybe i can share some of my builds and ideas and give my thoughts on some. But heres a few pics of my cherokee. and as I have the funds ill start building and doing more to it
the old bent rear spring
the good stock one next to the bent one
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

yes .. 06 rubicon . i picked up all 5 for 300 bucks. couldnt pass it up. way better than the painted black stock steelies that were on it. I also have a set (5) polished 15x10 m/t challengers i may stick on it. unsure yet. i only need to buy 2 more tires for my rubi rims to have a full set of new rubber or i may sell the rubi rims to put tires on my 15x10 challengers. maybe a 32x11.50
I had a warn front bumper from a tj on it but sold it to finish paying for my lift items i needed

Looks nice.
How do they have that TJ bumper mounted on there? I've been debating on moving my warn rc bumper from my TJ to the xj and building something different for the TJ when I put a metal cloak fenders on it.

I had it temporarily up there with the 2 top bolts. but i had originally planned to buy the do it yourself winch bumper brackets and weld them to it then notch it for a winch to sit down into the bumper. its the same width as the cherokee body it just doesnt have much side protection for the fenders

I'm really diggin' it.
Can you take some pics at different angles and from the side?
Also, if you take it off, could you take some pics and show how it's mounted? I think I may just have to do this to mine. I've been looking for an excuse to get a stinger bumper for my TJ and couldn't justify tossing the Warn bumper. *evil grin*

I already sold this bumper. but if you go on ebay and buy the xj diy bumper mounts that would be a good start. they are only 40-50 bucks and 1/4" plate with pre drilled holes to go along the frame rails
these are a bit high but there are some other out there that are 3/16 thick but min. i would run 1/4 plate. if you have access to a torch or plasma you could make your own and buy 1/4 x 4" plate from lowes

Yeah, I'm saving for a plasma cutter now. Unfortunately I'm limited to 110V, else I've gotta rewire my garage. It's got the old screw-in cap style fuses, and if I do 220, I'd be more comfortable with breakers. A 110V plasma + my 110 gasless flux core mig lincoln welder should do just fine for anything I'll be welding, I would imagine.
As soon as I can afford a plasma cutter I'll build my own. TY for the info and ideas.
