New from AZ
Hello All. New from Arizona. Just bought my first XJ about a week ago. Not the best picture but there it is. Its been wheeled a little bit by the previous owner, and as you can see ive already had some fun with it. So far im pretty impressed! Im already starting to love this jeep!
It is a 94. 126k miles, auto, 4x4, 3.5" lift 31X10.5X15R BFG All Terrains, "Unique" rims.
It needs a few things fixed before I get started namely:
New rear bumper, new reveiw mirror, new pass. mirror and the frame on the drivers side needs to be pulled. Slighty folded in the very front and about 1" "Scissored".(realized that after I bought it, thats what I get for buying it at night when I cant really see) So once thats all done I can get started.
The Plan right now is to build a semi-jeepspeed semi just go anywhere have fun vehicle, but who knows might change my mind again.
Im planning:
6.5" RC lift (bang for buck)
RC control arm drop brackets
SYE front and rear(possibly doing it the cheap custom way and saving a few hundred)
CV drive shafts front and rear
Chrysler 8.25 rear axel
Dana 44 front
fox 2.0 remote res. shocks front and rear (10" front 12" rear)
fox air bump stops
rear shocks through the wheel wells, similar to this set up
And I think thats it for now, Im figuring in the neighborhood of $3k to get it all done and it should be a pretty fun toy! any advice or info would be great. Anyone else built a "semi-prerunner/jeepspeed"?

Yeah 8.25 rear and dana 44 front. Not a reasonable combo IMO. Dana 44 kicks the 8.25's **** lol. Prolly a 8.25 Dana 30 combo which what 75% of the Jeeps come with stock.

Yes if you build a truss and put in Alloy axles it will be as strong as you need it to be. Many rock crawlers and heavier vehicles use a D30 and they can be built very strong.
