Default My hello post

Hello all. After owning a Jeep for 8 years now, and doing very basic maintenance, I figure its time to join the forum. Im having to do more than what I would call basic maint now. I am not very mechanically inclined. But thanks to Jeep I am getting better(with the knowledge).

I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee sport 4wd 4.0L 150,00+ miles. Dont know what kind of transmission of transfer case. No mods, yet.

Since I bought it I have.
Replace power steering pump 3x
Replace radiator
Replace battery 4x
Replace rear hatch struts(both sides)
Replace NSS
Replace Alternator
Replace rear brake calipers
Had a run in with a guard rail. bought a new header panel to replace, but havent had it painted yet

Just this weekend
Replace thermostat(Was a bigger pain than I thought it should be)
Replace Thermostat gasket x2
Replace valve cover gasket (Was way easier than I thought would be)

Need to
Replace power steering pump hoses
Replace oil filter adapter gasket
Someone mentioned I should drain and flush the transmission fluid...?

May need to
Replace rear main seal

Whats broken?
Still have a NSS issue.
Passenger windows only roll down from driver switch
AC works intermittently.
Radio face has poor connection

Looking forward to the help/suggestions/ridicule.

Welcome to the forum. Is it an auto? If so, it would be an AW-4. If the transfer case lever on your center console have "full time" mode, then it would be a NP242. Otherwise it would be NP231

Diesel? Nice. Except for fuel prices.

So this weekend I tried chasing down what I think is an electrical problem. Never could find evidence of a parasitic drain. So thought I had a bad ground. Tried cleaning up my fender ground(which is no longer on my fender.) and engine ground. Then this morning I had to get a new battery. Perhaps my alternator failure a few weeks ago caused this battery to fail. Hopefully the new alternator and cleaner ground contacts will keep this battery from failing.

On to the other fixes I need to make. Perhaps one day I'll get to start making mods instead of repairs.

First one went bad. Second one was installed improperly and pulley was cracked(my first time). Third one, the pulley and shaft came out of the pump(Shop did that one). Fourth one still going strong.
