Moving cross-country, what to do with my XJ?
Hello all,
New here and I thought this was the right place to start? I plan on making a move across country very soon here for new career opportunity and I'm at a crossroads with my XJ. I am not driving it to where I will be relocating, and I'm wondering whether it's worth trying to sell as a whole vehicle or as a part out honestly. By all means it still runs and drives, but it's a '98 Sport with 245k on the odo, and it's had a very looong life. I don't know what the values of either of those two possible options would bring in, what the market is, etc. So, if anyone could shed some light, or give some insight into the matter. Or even point me in the right direction thread wise.
Cheers,
-Robert.

Sell it as a complete vehicle. If you have any spare parts, throw them in with the deal.
Parting out a vehicle can take a very long time. You could have a well built rig with many desirable parts and simply nobody around you is interested.

You'll maybe get more money parting it out, but only if you're willing to deal with shipping across country and all that. so there is a lot more headache and time associated...
Right now, all used cars are worth way more than they should be. like... A LOT more... so it's probably worth trying to sell it whole, and be done with it.
