Wow lol. If I had the key they'd be on eBay. I'll try to get a key before doing anything drastic.

Just read through the thread... That guy sounds shady, but $900 isn't bad for what you have there. Search for an XJ in the So Cal area, and stand by to be floored by what people are asking.

Yeah, it does make a huge difference in where you live. I can get some stuff dirt cheap here that you guys pay out the *** for. But it works both ways sometimes.

Well despite the problems I had acquiring the vehicle I'm still happy. Death wobble is gone. Just had to tighten everything up and give it an alignment. Steering column was loose but it just had some loose bolts so that's fixed. Has a PS fluid leak and a rear seal leak. Ill get those fixed soon.

Compared to other XJ's I looked at they were either in need of serious work or way to costly.

Ok so I paid tags and I have been slowly getting her ready for smog. I left her at a friends because he used to do smog checks and has all tools needed to get it ready. He moved the Jeep to the street and it was towed. So basically I need to pay $400 to get it back! Which sucks. I may not do it.

That's insane! Your "friend" should have to help pay it.

God I hate citys that tow cars like that.

URG! I could go on for a page and a half ranting about that.

I'm sooo thankful that I live where I could park 3 cars along the road and not have to worry about them being towed. Here if you leave a car on the side of the road for 24 hours they come along and put a tag on it. If it's not moved 48 hours after that it will be towed...

Well...I bit the bullet and got her back. I'll have to put all work and fixes on hold until I recover. I wouldn't expect my friend to pay because he was doing me a big favor letting me use his shop and tools and even parts. FREE. It would never have happened if a neighbor hadn't called. They always put a warning unless someone has called.

I hate neighbors like that.

I had a neighbor a long time ago that would come in my back yard in the middle of the night, let my dog out of her fence and then call animal control.

The nice lady got me quite a few tickets but I never had the opportunity to catch her. Looking back I would love to have set a camera up each night when I went to sleep.

Ya it's pretty sad really. Well it's at my house for the first time and my god it leaks from EVERYWHERE because it was a 50 mile trip through a pass to get home and it probably hasn't gotten that warm in years.

I guess I'll have to jack it to the sky with 38's and drive it through their neighbors house
