Yes, it came stock with a tire carrier. I have one sitting in my shop that would fit right on it.
Man if we were close I would offer a trade for the basket.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. If the shipping wouldn't be horrible on both of them I'd be down for it. I have all the brackets, latches and bolts. I have everything you'd need to mount it on a Jeep that didn't come stocked with it.

I found it:

When you're taking pictures of the Jeep again take a picture of how the basket mounts to the cross bars in the configuration yours is in, if ya don't mine. This one shows it mounting on top of the bars. I want it to sit under the bars.

Ya shipping would be a bear. I'll check out the rack and get some pictures of it.

Any reason why I shouldn't pursue the original tire carrier? I could fab a rear bumper with tire carrier but it won't be worth the effort if I can just pick a few parts up at the junkyard.

I've never used the factory tire carry since I've never installed it but I've been told on multiple occasions that it'll only support the weight of a 31" tire...

Ah...There it is. Looks like a custom bumper/carrier in my future.

Here is a pic of the basket.

I wasn't particularly impressed with it either. I may move it as far forward as possible and make a beefy one to sit behind it but I don't have the keys to the rack so it may end up getting cut off.

Ya I have some treadwright 31's on my Liberty and love them. Just can't beat the price.

I was concerned because the 33" tire on 15" wheel is discontinued but it turns out I have 16" wheels and there are plenty of options for that size wheel. How about 35's for $150/E!!!

OH! Don't cut the towers!!! Those things are expensive! If you must you can bend the leg out to get it off. If you look on the lock cylinder there should be a number. You can call Yakima and try to get a key.

I'll give it a try. It would be nice if I got at least one key from the seller. Had to pry the keyed gas cap off to put gas in it to drive if away!
