You didn't buy that from a guy name Kameran did you?
Name was Kevin. I can check the records to see if a Kameran owned it.

I'm happy about the 16in wheels because I can use treadwright for my new tires.

I'll get some better pics of it and post them.

Man, I don't wanna hurt your feelings but with what I've got to look at I'm pretty sure you have a Dana 30 up front. Unless it's a Rubicon D44, which I highly doubt. Snap me a picture of the axle. A dana 30 stock cover looks similar to a Dana 44 stock cover...

Judging by the shape of the diff in this edited picture it's a Dana 30.

Don't waste your time checking records. I'm sure it didn't come from a Kameran. It was a joke that you haven't been into Cherokees long enough to get.

Welcome to the site and congrats on the Jeep.

Any questions ya have, feel free to pm me.

No hard feelings here. I'm skeptical myself but it does look exactly like the picture below

Can you take a picture of THE axle?

If you were to look at the outers on that axle you'd see the difference.

I'll get some pics up of the front and rear axle and housing. Might be a few days before that happens though.

My stomach is in knots now. I really want it to be a D44.

I'm tellin ya. Do NOT get your hopes up. I bet ya 100 bucks its a Dana 30. It has unit bearings on it. You can see that clearly in the picture.

Whoever you have take pictures tell them to also measure the bolt pattern on the wheels. 5x4.5 = Dana 30.

It was advertised as Dana 44 front and rear so I will get my money back or at least some of it.

There were plenty of other Cherokee's to choose from but I picked this one with all it's problems JUST because the 44's

I don't blame ya.

Get me a picture first and let's make sure it's not some one of a kind Dana 44 with unit bearings.

A Dana 44 uses a spindle and has typical wheel bearings. The spindle would stick out past the wheel. You'd have a hub there rather than nothing.

The NEW model D44 from a Rubicon uses unit bearings. That's the only possibility here.

The rear looks the same so it may not have one in the rear either. This just gets better and better.

Now, a D44 in the rear isn't completely out of the question. Around those years there was a XJ D44 that was either stock or a direct swap. It had 5x4.5 bolt pattern. Need a picture of that one too.

I have a 88 xj. I just had my colum rebiult 6 months ago for $300 bucks. It included a new ignistion ****ch, turn signal, bearings. Dont put it off. the longer you do the more it will cost. The bolts in the colum have come loose. If you rebiuld or have it rebiult put lock tight on the 4 bolts so they dont come loss again. vacum lines are cheap. I had the same problem. Napa Online for a vacum line kit. $50.00
