Default KC jeeper here

Hey everyone... been lurking on this forum for the past couple weeks reading a bunch of little odds and ends articles and threads on stuff to do to jeeps.

Well, after searching for a few weeks for a decent deal to pop up, I went out and picked up a 98 XJ sport for $1600. Came with 168k miles, 4.0, a very clean interior, decent exterior, and a whole lot of potential.

Plans are as most people's are with a jeep. Lift, wheels/tires, some kind of roof rack accessories, and I'm sure a whole lot more as time goes on and I learn about new and exciting things I can buy, but don't really need.

The modding bug has hit, unfortunately I drained my "fun money" account buying the thing... so I need to build that back up for a few paychecks before I can start with more goodies.

Here's a couple pictures of when I got it:

So since the weather has been phenomenal for mid-January in Kansas city, I took advantage of the two 65* days in a row and did some "painting" on my Jeep. I stripped the body side molding, taped some stuff off, and went to town with some bed-liner in a can. Came out pretty nice, but I still need to get some of the old adhesive from that molding off. I just got rid of it all where I was spraying the bed liner, said "**** it" on the other stuff until a later date. What a tedious, pain in the *** process that is.

The Jeep had some rust on the lower front doors that I just kinda hit with a wire brush and then bed-lined over. I don't really care if this thing is in pristine condition, as it's a beater car to begin with. Plus, I have a feeling more dents and dings are in store in the future for this thing.

Couple quick shots:

Parts I hit with Bed-liner include:

Front bumper
Rear bumper
Rockers
Portion of Rear quarter panels
Front grille
Headlight surrounds
Tail-gate handle
Tail-gate black bar above license plate
Antenna

I'll probably eventually do the mirrors also, but I don't think I have enough bedliner left in my last can for them at the moment.

She's a little squatty at the moment. Pretty stoked to put a lift on her and get rid of those nasty wheels.

Alright, now more fun. Jeeps aren't the only thing in my garage. Other toys include '72 Honda CB750 cafe conversion. Still needs a couple things (damn fun money fund drains so fast with 2 projects haha). Here's that little gem in it's current form:

Also have an 03 CBR600RR that I ride most often. Lots and lots of fun that bike is:

And my daily driver - 03 Lexus IS300:

So that's my intro thread. I look forward to contributing and learning from this place. Seems like a friendly little spot with a lot of info from what I've seen.
