Introduction from MA
I got my 1997 Jeep as a second car a couple of weeks ago, and I'm loving it so far. There's more than a few things that need to be handled as far as maintenance, and I'm trying to take it one step at a time.
There's a good deal of under-body rust, and I feel a number of things will need to be replaced with the drivetrain.
My goals for this car are thusly:
1. Run as efficiently as possible. I know an SUV, particularly an older one, is terrible on fuel. I got this to haul stuff around (particularly DJ equipment) and anything aftermarket which might help with the fuel mileage is a plus.
2. Have fun. I've already replaced the speakers, and am looking to replace the head unit and amplifier.
3. I'm not an off-roader, but I'm not exactly planning to treat my Jeep with kid-gloves. I live in MA and we get snowstorms. 4WD comes in REALLY handy.
I'll be looking through the forums for existing threads which may suit my needs and answer my questions. Recommendations on where to start are appreciated!

As for efficiency, I get about 20mpg on average with my '96, not sure what you're getting now. Check the tire pressure first, might need new plugs, can't hurt to run some fuel cleaner through (I like the seafoam or lucas stuff). Past that, putting a K&N air intake on helps a little. Mine came with a Flowmaster muffler and a performance catalytic converter (which is why it sounds like that) and that probably helps too? Though, I have the 5 speed so not sure how much that help/affects it either.
