Howdy!
Hi everyone! I'm in the process of buying my first XJ, a salvage from a friend. It's my second Jeep, I've had a '96 ZJ that left me stranded one too many times and got traded several years back. So, I'm giving it another go with the more reliable XJ.
It's a 1996 Cherokee Country with 247,000 miles but runs like it has less than 100,000. It's bone stock apart from aftermarket fog lights, and I'll probably keep it that way until I've fixed any gremlins I find.
Anyway, I have already found this community to be of immeasurable help and I'm looking forward to sharing my experiences with all of you.

Thanks everyone! I got to play around with her some today, put on a new fan shroud (thanks to the gang here for the tip to remove the mechanical fan and clutch to make it easier) and found out I may have some trash in the fuel system. She would start up but died at idle if I didn't rev up the engine. I got on the back bumper and jumped up and down a few times, got back in and she stayed running! So next step might be to drop the tank... :P
