Hi everyone new to the forum, but not to Jeeps. I just bought an XJ again, had a 93 and sold it about 3 years back. We are RVing life, now that when are retired so needed a flat tow vehicle for long stays down south, during the cold windy Colorado winters. This year we spent a lot of time looking at real estate in Texas. Any way the the replacement xj has ver little rust on it and was an original Wyoming jeep most of its life. Then it came down to Southern Colorado where it came to live with us 😙 old farts. I have owned Jeeps most of my 70+ years, from a 57 military cj to a full size AMC jeep truck, 2 CJ7s, one with a 401 Big Block that was a hand full to keep under control.😎 I’ve a little experience with the jeep thing.
Right now I’m rigging out the 2000 XJ for flat towing behind the RV. Just in stalled the BlueOx base plate and wired it. Fixed the rear hatch latch opener, and replace driver side door pins and bushings. The front suspension rubber is all dry rotted an worn out the XJ has 240k on it so that is next. Need to get a front bumper with which plate to mount my Warren Winch. Don’t really need it much but when you need it and 75 miles from civilization to get unstuck, you need one.🤔
Glad to be here, hope to be a contributor to the forum.
