Hi all, I've had my Cherokee 4L, 4X since '96, bought new, over 200K mi and until recently haven't had many problems. I've recently replaced the stock engine w/a new/rebuilt Jasper engine. I've had quite a bit of "backyard mechanic" experience on old junkers I used to keep running in the old days
but have been reluctant to get into these more modern computer controled engines. I've recently rebuilt a couple of 70's/80's era motorcycles and am now working on a '67 Sunbeam Alpine SV. Eventhough my Jeep now has a new engine, it's getting to the age where I'm gonna have to start working on it, as mechanics are getting rediculous. I've had great luck w/these forums in getting help on my previous projects and am hoping to pick the brains of this forum and get my Jeep back to a reliable daily driver.
Thanks for providing this valuable resource and hope to be able to return the favor.

Welcome, from Wisconsin. Back in the mid 70's (High school days). My brother had a 65' Sunbeam "Tiger". To this day, that was the fastest. I've have ever gone in any car. (Pegged the speedo @ 140) Unfortunately it got rear ended, at a stop light. And burst into flames. At present I see their worth 60k to 80k. Oh! Yea! the good old days.

Thanks for the welcome, y'all.
I believe the SV looks like the Tiger MarkII, but has the 4 cyl 1725 engine and a different front end. Still supplosed to hit 100.
