Hi Everybody, Already been helped here ;)
I just bought a 95 Cherokee Country for my daughter, her 1st car. This is the 3rd jeep in the family, had a Cherokee 2 door, 4wd that we bought new in the 80's, we used it to get to property in upper maine, Fish River Lake. Was totaled when mom rolled it on black ice ;( she got out with just cuts/bruises. Thing was pretty solid, we flipped it back on its wheel and drove it home. Insurance totaled it ;( Currently I have a 06 GC Hemi (Love it).
So for the kids Jeep, she's a tom boy and didn't want a Honda
Love that kid....
It has 160k, just picked up in maine but it came originally from Colorado so it has no body rot, no frame rot and just a little surface rust on the floorboards.
Will por15 that in a few weeks, been fleshing out the mechanical's....
So far we did exhaust manifold, (cracked), muffler and tail pipe. 2 front u-joints, rad flush, then a new radiator(was at 210+), now at 195-200 with a/c on at 80f outside.
The rear vacuum lines on the valve cover, was rotted.... fixed it and still had no cruise control and the center vents did not work. glad I had that vacuum guage left over from the Packard Project found a good writeup hear about fixing vents and that's how i found that vacuum bottle under the bumper!!! Re-attached that hose and wallah cruise and vents work
Slowly gathering stock steel rims/tires off craigslist for the winter, the Country wheels are a mess, will sandblast and maybe powder coat ? or paint this winter, have not decided yet, open to suggestions
Started working on the surface rust and paint chips.... I do custom Airbrushing on bikes as a hobby, my friends keep asking so what are gonna do to it!? Daughters response NOTHING!! there will be no skulls and flames ;( oh well...
Got a new grill on order, old one is all cracked, and some new emblems...
Other than a few cosmetics it looks and runs excellent
Will post up some pics in a few days...

thanks for the nice welcome the new grill just came in, i'm painting it now in the booth, and yes xjforfishing i thought she'd be safer in the xj too!
